Tanishia McIntosh of New York City is an experienced health professional who has held various management positions. She specializes in implementing medical technology solutions for hospitals. Tanishia McIntosh has also been involved in charitable activities and humanitarian work over the years and volunteered in Haiti for the Gaskov Clerge Foundation (GCF) Mobile Clinic.
Founded in 1999, GCF is a philanthropic nonprofit organization that operates in the United States and Haiti to make healthcare accessible in disadvantaged communities. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to volunteer their expertise to aid the operation of mobile clinics in Haiti. These services are essential because Haitian people who cannot afford to see a doctor have come to depend on GCF's mobile clinics extensively as their main source of healthcare. The clinic offers basic medical care for people of all ages and provides specialists that include gynecologists, psychiatrists, dentists, cardiologists, and neurologists. Oftentimes, these specialists are not available anywhere else in the region.
GCF works in conjunction with the Les Cayes public hospital for medical procedures and surgeries and also collaborated with Forward in Health (FIH) to build a medical center, Klinik Fonfred, in order to provide people in nearby communities with continuous care.
